The Conrads Difference
Because Jon's experience and skillset is soo complete and well rounded he is able to "hold" your hand from day one during initial phone call, until completion of the warranty period. This saves time, money and frustration while being unlike other remodeling companies where you will be handed off to at least 4 different people during the different stages which can cause continuity issues with communication, design, construction, budget and schedule. If changes are needed or unseen issues arise in a project, we can shift or mitigate instantly as Jon is the designer and hands on builder.
The only way Jon can do this and devote all of his attention to each project / homeowner is by limiting the number of projects that we take to a select few a year so that he can devote a high level of personal attention and craftsmanship.
STAGE 1
Pre-Design
Your remodeling or new home building experience with Conrads Custom Homes begins with an initial 30-minute phone call where we talk openly about your needs, challenges with your space, budgetary requirements, and hopeful timeline. If this preliminary conversation is aligned with your thoughts and direction we schedule a site visit, in your home, where we delve deeper into your needs, the existing conditions and project scope.

Upon agreement of a realistic scope of work and preliminary budget, we develop a design agreement (architectural and interior design documents & selections) and Comparative Remodeling Analysis (CRA) that provides you with the assurance of a realistic breakdown of budgetary items that will go into your remodel based on our company’s 30 years of historical data.
STAGE 2
Design Development
Upon signing the design agreements, you will be guided through the design process— where the fun begins. Starting with on-site field research of your home’s existing condition, and receiving your completed survey responses, we take photographs and measurements of the space. We also begin developing your architectural drawings and start the selections process.

As part of the design phase, you work closely with Jon and are guided through a selection process to identify finishes that fit your functional needs, design style and budget.

After the architectural drawings and all selections and products are selected, we schedule a subcontractor/vendor walk through of your home. Unique to Conrads Custom Homes, this allows you the assurance of a working with a deep team of specialists who offer their expertise on your project right from the beginning—collaborating on issues and providing creative input on your project so as to prevent future surprises, unexpected delays and budget overruns.
STAGE 3
Project Development
We will assemble all subcontractor/vender labor and materials, along with Conrads Custom Homes labor and management, into a contract. This contract is based on your project’s architectural drawings and product selections.

Upon approval of your detailed plans and specifications, Conrads Custom Homes starts the permitting process, orders the products and materials, and develops a project timeline or schedule. During this time, we will set up a pre-construction walkthrough meeting with you at the project to ensure everyone is on the same page before demolition or groundbreaking begins.
STAGE 4
Construction
Work begins on your home remodeling project. Jon and Kristen will work collaboratively with the subcontractors and venders to ensure no detail is overlooked and your project begins and ends on schedule...we will put on our tool bags when needed to ensure this. We will hold weekly progress meetings with you where all aspects of the project will be discussed so that we can stay on the same page and all your questions or concerns can be addressed formally instead of in passing on the jobsite.

And, your project doesn’t end there. We take pride in our workmanship and are committed to delivering the best possible remodeling experience possible, standing by our product and backing our work with an extended two-year warranty.
